Missed it Live? Watch the “Big Security Data” Webinar with 451 Research & eEye Here.
Recently, 451 Research and eEye hosted the webinar “Turning Your Big Security Data into a Big Advantage”. This discussion was on the topic of “Big Data” and how it relates to today’s security landscape. Featuring 451′s Andrew Hay, we covered how today’s enterprise IT and security teams can best leverage their ‘big security data’ to make more informed decisions and better protect their networks. Topics covered include:
- The business value of ‘big security data’

- How security teams can leverage ‘big security data’ to make more informed decisions
- eEye’s take on how you can begin to leverage this information to drive a more dynamic security strategy
- Andrew Hay’s insight into how this data is impacting the enterprise today
- Live Q&A at the end of the webcast from members of the audience
For those of you who missed the live event, you’re in luck because we’re giving you access to the recording here.
For those of you who still have questions after watching the recording, I encourage you to continue the conversation in the comments section below. We’ll be sure to answer your questions in the order they’re received.
February VEF Participant Takes Home a Kindle Fire.
As you all know, every month we host our Vulnerability Expert Forum (VEF) webinar. This is a time where our experts share valuable insight regarding new vulnerabilities that are discovered and the actions that need to be taken as a result. It’s a quick way to get up to speed on current potential risks to your organization and a way to explore the impact that high-risk vulnerabilities and exploits have on network environments and infrastructures. eEye is committed to helping security administrators reduce the workload they face by making this information easily accessible and by clearly presenting all required information to our audience.
If you haven’t attended a VEF before, I encourage you to sign up and join our next one on March 14, 2012. Not only will you receive a complete analysis of recently announced critical vulnerabilities from Microsoft and other software vendors but you could potentially win a Kindle product from us!
Just ask our February winner, Craig Farmer, who was awarded with a new Amazon Kindle Fire for participating in our discussion earlier this month. Congrats to Craig. A bit more about him:
I am a Hewlett Packard employee, contracted to a Federal government agency specifically for IT security services. I hold a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credential. My daily job is exercise IT security; vulnerability detection, prevention, remediation and regulation compliance.
The challenge of information security today, is that it changes as quickly as new technology is delivered. Keeping ahead of the bad guys is a continual effort that relies heavily on automated tools for both detection and remediation.
Again, congrats to Craig and thank you to all for being continued supporters of eEye and security for all. Don’t forget to join us at our next VEF and you too could possibly take home a new Kindle product! Sign up here.
Webinar This Thursday: Turning Your Big Security Data into a Big Advantage
What’s Your Strategy for Big Security Data?
The idea of “big data” has technology vendors and customers alike scrambling to come up with ways to manage the limitless amounts of data being generated by apps, API’s, databases, web services, etc. For organizations with aggressive security and compliance requirements, the security data driving today’s modern threat and risk intelligence (assessments, compliance reports, attack and mitigation data, etc.) is ‘big data’ in itself.
In fact, it might be the biggest data in your organization, with regards to its value and impact to operations. It is one thing to collect this data (no small feat, actually), but the real challenge is in making sense of all of this valuable information in an actionable format.
How to Turn Your Big Security Data into a Big Advantage
Join us this Thursday for a live webinar discussing these topics, co-hosted by 451 Research and eEye Digital Security, and learn from eEye how you can begin to leverage your big data to drive a more dynamic security strategy, as well as to hear Andrew Hay from 451 Research discuss how this data is impacting the enterprise today.

Retina CS Turns Patch Tuesday into Simply “Tuesday”
Last week we announced Retina CS 3.0 – which extends our already market-leading vulnerability management capabilities for mobile devices – by adding in support for Android devices, as well as Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync – and sets a new bar for enterprise cloud security, allowing private cloud deployments based on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and VMware vCenter to be integrated within your existing vulnerability management strategy.
This announcement comes on the heels of our most recent award for Retina CS, granted by SC Magazine, who gave us the highest marks possible for usability, feature-richness and most importantly, value. Why do I bring this up? Well, Patch Tuesday of course. More [...]
Microsoft Patch Tuesday – February 2012
Ahh Valentine’s Day. Time to leave work early, buy a box of chocolates for your loved one, and fight through the crowds for a table at your favorite restaurant. Or, if you happen to be gainfully employed in IT security, time to spend the evening at work with your coworkers, patching servers and drinking a case of Mountain Dew. Much thanks to Microsoft and the Gregorian calendar for making Patch Tuesday and Valentine’s Day fall on the same date. At least it won’t happen again until 2017, right? Try to explain that one to your better half. More [...]
Industry Experts Call Retina CS a ‘Flawless’ Best Buy
Yesterday Morey Haber gave our readers a sneak peek at what was to come with our soon-to-be-announced Retina CS 3.0 release. All of us here at eEye feel 3.0 will drive even greater distance between eEye and our competitors.
Customers speak the loudest with regards to my backing up our claim of market and product leadership, but I also often refer to 3rd party market coverage as well. Today, I’m proud to share with you another clear validation of the value and capabilities that Retina CS delivers to enterprise security, compliance and IT teams. More [...]
